Um...definitely some questions
Ok, this is from the girls in Paris (Marina, Sheri and Shannon). We're having some issues right now on our pre-Romania trip. Most important of all, Shannon lost her wallet :-) and we're trying to deal with that. We've found the LDS branch (church is true!) and are at the branch president's house right now. We're wondering if Shannon should have the credit card companies send her new cards to Romania and if that's very reliable. If it's not a good option, we'll look into other things (like having her money transferred into Sheri's account). Also, Marina needs her ISIC card and a new debit card and we're wondering if we can have them sent to Romania or if she should try to get it sent priority to London.

okay, first of all, don't stress girls! things like this always happen when traveling so try to just enjoy your trip as much as possible! how is paris? i'm glad you found the church! second of all, marina and shannon should defintely NOT send their bank cards to romania!! make sure shannon contacts her parents and bank to cancel the cards asap, if i can help with that in anyway just let me know. if there is anyway that they could borrow money from sheri for the rest of the trip that would be the best, just save receipts (keep a really really good account of how much is borrowed and for what, write it down immediately after for sure!) then when you all get to romania we can work out paying sheri back. what we will probably have to do is have shannon and marina's parents mail a check to my parents for them, then i can go to the bank and withdraw their money for them, it's not the most convenient thing but it worked really well with one of the girls in my last group (her bank card just didn't work here...) also, about marina's isic card, that's not urgent. the only thing we've really ever used it for is to get a discount on museums in budapest. i forgot to bring mine to budapest last time and some of the places still gave me the discount...just depends. if she wants to have someone mail it to romania than that would be good, but again, it's really not that important, just saves some money. it's a good means of idenfication in a different country, but if you have to identify yourself for some reason, most likely they will just want to see your passport. okay, i hope that answers your questions! let me know if you have any others! be safe girls, look after each other and live it up, your in paris!! love,
holly
Great! Ok, we won't send the cards and we'll work it out when we get there. I've got Shannon covered til we get there and then we'll work it all out. Other question though: what do we do if because of this whole having to cover Shannon thing we didn't have enough money to take out the 300 Euro before we left Paris? We're in London now and will go straight from here to Romania, so no more Euros. What would you suggest?
Ok, actually I think we might have the whole Euros thing figured out. I think Shannon's mom is going to wire money to shannon and she's going to take it out in Euros and that'll cover both her and i for the 300 euros. Well that's the gist of it at least.
